Reading & Writing 2 systematically develops students' reading writing skills through a variety of fun writing projects and the shared reading of two award-winning novels. In the writing portion of the course, students will use the writing process to compose beautiful, effective essays in several different modes, learn how to add creative flair to their work, and find new avenues of self-expression and personal style. In the reading portion, the chance to read, discuss, and write about two award-winning novels, Kimberly Brubaker Bradley's The War I Finally Won (the sequel to her Newbery-Award Winning The War That Saved My Life) and Sharon Creech's Newbery-Award winning Walk Two Moons, will allow students to get immersed in works of literature, strengthen their passion for reading, discover the connection between reading and writing, and advance their Language Arts skills. Relevant vocabulary and grammar components enrich and strengthen the skills learned in this course.

Note: The novels for this course must be purchased separately. 
  • This course includes a carefully pre-recorded 16-week writing enrichment program by our experienced teachers. Students can watch it multiple times at their convenience on our smart learning platform. Additionally, they are required to submit corresponding assignments on the platform to allow teachers to assess and understand their learning progress.
  • This course also includes 16 weeks of LIVE ZOOM classes, during which the teacher will address students' questions and provide clarification based on the assignments they have submitted. Additionally, the teacher will extract key points from the instructional videos of the week and present them in a concise manner.
  • Every week, the teacher provides detailed feedback and revision suggestions for each writing exercise of the students. This is a valuable opportunity for children to receive writing guidance that is often hard to come by in school.
  • We will practice and learn more than five different types and styles of writing skills.
